Graphic design for a new Souffle Continu Records release. Not a reissue this time but a recording as testimony of a handful of live performances played as a duo by harpist KRISTEN NOGUÈS and ECM artist JOHN SURMAN during the Dre Ar Wenojenn Festival in the summer of 1998. “Diriaou” is now available on Deluxe LP (regular black and limited ultra clear vinyls), Digipak Compact Disc and Download.
Cover photograph by Guy Le Querrec (Magnum) was John Surman’s choice from the very beginning. I would have made a different choice because I think it brings a touch of sadness to the project which seems reducing to me regarding the whole ambience emanating from the music. But I tend to warmly thank Théo Jarrier and Bernard Ducayron for their continuous trust in my work and especially for the overall great care regarding the choice of material and manufacturing quality which helped a lot to enhance the visual and graphic work on this album.
